planar / cylindrical t-maps in v2.4

#1

Hey all,

I’ve a few planar / cylindrical texture maps in a scene that were created in 2.2, but appear differently ( i.e not mapped properly anymore ) when rendered in 2.4.

Not a big issue, but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or if something’s up with my scene file.

MoodyB,

Not sure if your problem is somehow linked to the statment below from Thomas, about the projection list order perhaps?

‘… since they have changed the order of projections in the dropdown…’

Thanks for the reply rush. That’s not it though, as one of the previous version to 2.4 changed the mapping list order, which broke Thomas’s chainmail scene.

I’ll render some small comparison stills later. It’s bound to be something simple / user error that’s causing it.

Here’s a render from v2.2b :

And here’s the same frame, from the same scene, rendered in 2.4 :

The odd thing is that the texture block settings / options are identical for the materials in 2.2b and 2.4, so it must be something internal that’s causing it.

Here’s 2 cylindrical mapping comparison images :

2.2b :

2.4 :

The changes in lighting is down to the new ’ tint to surface colour ’ option in the reflective channel. It defaults to 0.0 in 2.4 so it’s tinting to white, making the reflections / surface brighter.

is that an obj file or lwo ? try lwo if its not.

#7

The buildings are .lwo’s, the wheels / tyres are .obj’s
