Piston (sliding joint) Tutorial

#1

Hi,

for one of my last projects (combustion engine) i needed a piston animation and couldnt find a working tutorial on the net (perhaps i missed something)

The approach most tutorials make is to wire the x movement of a Point (PointA) that’s rotating on a wheel, crank into the x movement of a sliding joint (piston).
This isnt working correctly because the distance between PointA and the Piston isnt constant. This leads to intersections.
The bigger the radius of the crank the more obvious they become.

So i came up with this :

it worked for me so i thought i should share it.

Any comments are appreciated : )
