Great reproduction!!! You’ve stydied it in details, it’s easy to see. What kind of references did you use? P.S. Thou shall liveth ethernally in heaven:thumbsup:

#143

It’s beautiful … other than that, I’m speechless

#144

yeah, that is nice, but one must think of the man who did that is solid stone!

now that is an accomplishment.

#145

yeah we all know that Micahelangelo was a master, lets not take away from this dudes model at all.

#146

EVOLOTION OF SCULPTURE! …(wow!)

#147

HI WOw you are the best !"! you can improve the shader and render but the model is … wow. i make this … congrats a frontal lighting will help a lotm ( like in the picture )

#148

no doubt 5 stars!

job-dropping master piece i say.

j!.

#149

i am very interested in your reference material? did u have any other angles of this or did u juse use this image in the background and a camera positioned accordingly angled to fit and that’s it?
some of the details are very very close, very nice indeed. i would definately texture the dirt and brown corrosion and give a much more dramatic lighting to this. that would make this piece incredible.

This has got to be one of THE best models I have ever seen here - and I’ve seen nearly all of the best. I saw it on the front page and instantly recognized it. In fact, from the thumbnail, it looked like a thumb to an image of the real Pietà! Very photo-realistic!

You’ve captured all the beautiful subtletiess and detail in the wrinkles and faces. Truly one of my favorite CG pieces I’ve seen. 10 stars if I could. :arteest: :applause:

#151

That is absolutely unreal. :argh:

#152

Great Gooogly Moooogly! That is unbelievable. I never thought anybody would ever attempt that. 5***** goodness!!

#153

Simply astounding   . The modeling is one of the greatest i’ve seen in replication of a statue. I really do believe you can turn this into an epic art piece of realism if you texture it like the one you referenced on and light it with Final gathering and HDRI. You can take this further and into your advantage, i don’t think the texturing and lighting part will be much of a burden. And to finalize do some post works in photoshop, like adding grain and whatnot.

An excellent and meaningful piece, What better way to show 3D emerge as an art form than with this image. I take my hat off to you.
