Piedad, Vladimir Minguillo (3D)

After reading through this entire thread, I would not presume to critique your work.
As a long-time sculptor, and more recently a CG artist, I’m very impressed, and I am happy to see the response you have gotten from the CG community.
It is well deserved.

Have you considered sending your file to a rapid prototyper, and executing an actual sculpture from your model? It’s such an impressive, detailed work, it would look fantastic as a bronze reproduction… provided you have detailed the entire piece.

Best of luck in your future endeavors

“Wooooow , heck!”

that was my first response to seeing the model, but after looking carefully at it in relation to the original I now am apt to think, “Woooow!! thats some awesome work!” Well done and keep it coming

#283

Oye tio, Por que no dejas el 3d y te haces escultor de verdad???

Un saludo.

#284

god how i hate when people speak foreign languages in international forums

#286

Well, at first, when i want to say something that could interest to somebody maybe i will write in english. But sometimes i just want to say something to the artist, that can uderstand my idiom. I dont want to read sentences like “Oh my gos is awesome” because im not the artist so i will write in my idiom if he can understand.

The translation of my text is that if he have try to practice sculpture.

So please, dont hate.

#287

sorry dude. it’s ok. it’s just that when you have some critics sometimes, then it would help other to understand the techniques too. if you know what i mean. but thats not the topic to argue about it

#288

Sorry by that leho!!..I’ll try to fix this impasse…

I wrote to Vladimir, wich is my compatriot, that if he is studying 3D animation in Sweden and also give to him my best wishes from here in Peru.

I hope that you don’t hate us too much now

Best regards

Boris.

We are starting an urban digital arts training center for youth in the Maryland/DC area. I will definitely show this piece to demonstrate, talent, patience, passion, and the love. The love you have for the for the craft and the art. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

Great job indeed but I think there is little bit problem with the legs of the male figure. I think there is a little bit problem in anatomy at the knee area of the right leg and secondly it seems that the left leg is floating on the air.

It is simply stupendous!

The animated giff shows the differences, The knee still isn’t quite right and Mary looks to me like she has a very faint smile that’s absent in the original. There is more detail in the original cloth folds than in your model. Also, Jesus’ left heel presses into, rests upon, the tree stump and his head is thrown back farther.

You don’t need to improve your modeling skills, what you do need to do is let your imagination and your feelings flow through you into the work. Feel the heel as it presses into the tree. Note the stiffness in the cloth as it resists gravity, cloth is not quite so relaxed as you have portrayed it, sections will stiffen in columns that only reluctantly give way. Imagine how the Christs head would lol about, he’s not sleeping.

And, of course, many kudos for having the chutzpah to even attempt it in the first place! Great work!

#294

I just want to say that you are f****g GOOD  well done ! fantastic work 5 stars on !

Best,

#295

wow, nice work, it looks like ture…

#296

amazing !!!:applause:
bravo

#297

Really Great.
The faces are really expressive and the cloath so much beautifull.
Only one thing: the material is similar to porcelain and not marmoire (i hope is write correctly).
For me 5 star.

its amazing… you dont need me to say any mroe about that.

but i DO think that there needs to be more feeling. like some have said before… i think you just modeled… which i believe was the original intent lol… so kudos to you. i wanna see you redo this image… with as much feeling as you can and your own composition as to how our dear mary should be showing her anguish.

cheers!
