Geez, why didn’t anyone think to make this model before… oh yeah, right, because you’d be crazy to try!
Thanks for being crazy enough to attempt this and it’s inspirational that you actually accomplished such a close likeness.
Great work ![]()
Piedad, Vladimir Minguillo (3D)
this is absolutely incredible. what software do you use? i’d love to know how you work and how you managed to model such an incredible copy. only one thing is missing now…your signature right where michelangelo’s was!
amazing!
this has to be the best point modeling i have ever seen, you my friend are a point modeling genius…:buttrock:
So impressive… congrats
Mary looks like she’s a little happier in your version… but I wouldn’t have even noticed had someone not posted the original… amazing work man ![]()
Excellent modeling ability you have there! Since I’m not that familiar with the piedad…I’d rather have a sculptor/museum consultant look into this…to see whether or not they’d qualify this similar to the original … They might say it just looks too brand new…
I know you’re an expert now in the modeling…and you deserve more than 5 stars…but you said you want to improve…hmmm…I’m realizing even the pros want to improve even more…
*Probably slice one of the limbs…like the real ones who’ve lost their pieces…(they’re old you know)
*Your modeling is superb…now try out the texturing just a little bit…I see you have some great skill in that too…
*To make it ancient and thus more realistic…give it some dirt, smudges and smears…Just a bit…and since you already give this beauty of a piece your own…that’ll do…![]()
Congrats on Front page!
not bad, not bad . . . . . . maybe in a few months you could make better than this …
:applause:
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwww . . . . . . . . . .fantastic,
really really amazing . . .

Muchas gracias!!!
Please a little better shader and a little SSS and I give you not five but ten stars.
increible tio, simplemente increible.
First I wanted to say,
Excellent modeling for the pieta, man!
Now you are really the second Michel…
Second…I wanted to have some critques.
The only thing that seems not right is the material itself. Compare to lots of sculptures you’ll find it doesn’t have that clear light reflection point. And the stripes looks too big for the original size of the sculpture.
I really like the lighting you set. It gives a so real environment.
And I really admire your modeling skill. Maybe, in my opinion, you can improve on the texture part more.
You always think that your work is at the edge of computer graphics but Cgtalk comes knocking at the door to tell you that your not the center of the universe.
Well done friend, musta took you a while to model this.
Great great accomplishment.

great stuff…am i dreaming…
i would suggest 5 stars are not enough to reward this excellecy…hats off…
for critic…i don’t know i should suggest this, but anyway so far no one has pointed this out… so i think i put my humble point of view here…
i think tht the back side of the knee (just under the knee) is too rounded & thin & its lookin slightly unnatural .
anyway its never ever going to reduce the star value…all the best…
absolutely outsanding! I hate to sound like a broken record but this is one of the best excutions of a sculpture reproduction I have ever seen. This is just a phenomenal piece of work. You should really be proud, and you should also really be working in the industry (if you arent already).
that being said…make more art man!! I await your next project! ![]()
