One thing that there is that mood on your model different from original. I can`t see drama. On the face of Madonna, for example.

Somebody said Michelangelo would love Maya. I dont think so. Michelangelo would love 3D, independently of the software itself. And Im sure he would be proud of this replica.

This really is spectacular. I have one quibble – someone else might have mentioned this already, but there’s something a bit odd about Christ’s knees. The thighs taper a bit more than the original, and the knees come off looking a bit like a folded straw rather than, well, knee joints. It’s extremely minor, and I probably wouldn’t have noticed had I not been looking with my face two inches from the monitor.

I absolutely love this, though. When I first looked at it, I thought, hmm… CGTalk is allowing sculpture now?

About a month ago I was standing in front of the original piece.

I think the most beatiful part of it, and the most dificult to duplicate is Maria’s expression. You’ve gotten darn close to it!.

I believe this a great tribute to a masters work. As far as flaws I agree with the back side of jesus’ knee being off also I feel the expression on Mary’s face is not caputring the same sense of emotion as in Michelangelos piece. Very well done
