Hi gotta question i am planing to Learn PS character designing through Digital Tutors…
But those tutors there are drawing The Character like they are using a real pencil or brush??

So do they use a tablet or a mouse and what should i use mouse or tablet…i prefer to go with mouse cuz i got no money to invest for a tablet but if you guys say so i will give a try.
Can i use MOUSE TO master sketching???

Obviously a stylus is going to be infinitely better than a mouse for sketching. If you’re serious about this stuff invest in a tablet. There are loads of really cheap options out there these days.

Many years ago before I had a stylus I used to sculpt in Zbrush with a mouse. Yes, it could be done. Was it frustrating and counter-intuitive? Very much so.

As to whether or not the tutor you’re talking about is using a stylus…? Guaranteed.

They aren’t necessarily good but you can get tablets for as low as $50 now.

Tablets are the way to go. I use a Bamboo and there are other cheap options available.

I use the Monoprice 6"x10.5" tablet and it works great for $50.
It does lack the eraser and tilt functionnality, but it has user configurable buttons that can be linked to many function in PS. It also has 2048 pressure level.

I’m presently saving my $$ for a Cintiq 24HD which I intend to by for my 50th birthday next July.
