PF Hoe Pro 2 - C4D - fbx - EI Workflow help

#1

Hi All,

Don’t know if anyone has tried this particular workflow before, but it is kind of working for me with a couple of problems. Track in PF Hoe Pro, export as LWS to C4D all is fine. I then set up some models in C4D and export fbx. EI opens the fbx ok, with all models etc in place, and camera animation correct, but with two problems, firstly the resolution setting in camera is wrong should be 16:9 format and always seems to flip to 4:3, and secondly the focal length is wrong, I can correct this by copying the angle of view from c4d, but then I seem to have to do this for every frame in the sequence to keyframe, I know this sounds complex but if anyone using fbx with EI could help I would much appreciate it,

Thanks, James

Can’t you just set the correct focal length on frame one and turn off the animation arrow for the camera focal length? It will remove any further changes…

Flip down the blue arrow next to the camera icon -> hit the green arrow and press okay.

Or go into spreadsheet mode, select the focal length frames and use the ‘fill’ option (under the paint bucket menu in the project window).

??
Hope that helps,
Ian

I have a co-worker who used to work in Cinema’s tech support department. He says that Cinema exports fbx incorrectly but luckily MB will still read it. Take the exported C4D data into MB and resave. According to him, it corrects the bulk of most problems.

Thanks guys,

Fixed by using paste cells, (the cameras tracked)
