Virtual Wonders has an immediate need for a full time Senior Environment Artist to support applications, in-house tools, and AR/VR experiences based on our digitized cultural and natural site library. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of environment asset and modular construction techniques specifically processing real world scan data delivered by our capture team. A portfolio link, sample images, and resume/CV with a cover letter are required.

Creation of assets using real world scan data for both Unreal and Maya/Vray
Create efficient levels and environments with good UV layouts
Creation of realistic shaders in the Unreal Engine and Maya/Vray
Process scan data from our 3d capture teams
Create tutorials, style guides and technical guides to communicate workflow and pipeline.
Work closely with Art Director and Scan Teams to develop pipeline development techniques
Give accurate estimates and work within time and budget requirements.

U.S. Citizen or foreign national with up to date work visa (no sponsorship)
On site full time employment. No remote contract work will be considered.
3+ years professional game/vfx production experience
Previous experience creating high quality environments for AAA games and VFX.
Expert knowledge of Maya, Zbrush and Substance / Quixel packages
Ability to derive a well-structured lowpoly model from the high poly model
Production experience working with real world scan data such as photogrammetry, photometric scans (Quixel Megascans), structured light and LIDAR
Strong understanding of efficient UV layout for lowpoly objects
Strong understanding of modular level creation methods
Experience creating environments using modular systems
An understanding of effective asset creation and optimization
A strong understanding of shader functionality
Strong knowledge and/or experience with PBR workflow techniques
An understanding of effective asset creation and optimization
A keen eye for spatial composition and building believable scenes based on real world data
Expert in time management, verbal and written communication skills
Be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision
NukeX and python coding experience is a plus
