Pen? Mudbox? WTF???

#1

Hi there everyone,

I am all new to mudbox and just installed the 2010 version and it is not working propperly.
The tablet I am using is an Intuos 2 runing on the latest drivers but I just can not use certain tools in Mudbox such as the scuplt tool or the paintbrush with the tablet. Others loke the pinch or the air brush tool work just fine so at first i thought it was a Mudboxissue but with my mouse they all worke.
Does anyone have a clou how to fix this?

Ok, I just reinstalled the programm and it seems to be working fine now.

Nope, it worked on the first object I opened but now I am having the same problems again.

newest wacom driver installed…?
and try to delete the mudbox settings folder in myDocuments…

are you on pen mode or mouse mode? mouse mode is not supported right in mudbox, things dont work right such as stamp spacing, intensities…strokes.
only pen works right

I was using the tablet inm mouse mode. I am working with s screens and pen mode is… not exactly handy but what can I do?

s screens? you mean more than 1 monitor? i use 2 hd monitors myself. i use mouse mode on everything but! i set my wacom settings to be pen mode strictly on mudbox AND i map it this way:
monitor mapping: the 1 main screen +20% of the other screen from the center(so i can have menus in mudbox placed on my other monitor and not lose my pen range). and the tablet mapping is “roughly” the same ratio as the monitors space i mapped. meaning i dont use the whole tablet’s space to be mapped but more of a rectangle shape. this way you can kinda~ get a correct aspect ratio of your mapping so the square tablet wont be mapped to x2 the horizontal screen space…and drawing a circle results in a long ellipse, atleast not as much.
i know it sucks, i hate it… i hate pen mode. but this is the only way as far as i know, can send a hate mail to autodesk demanding they support mouse mode.
you can not use mouse mode period, stamp spacing will not work at all with mouse mode. and without stamp spacing you will get jaggy strokes with your tablet, useless to sculpt. not to mention your falloff/brush gets cut off in depth and as i said intensities dont work right, no pressure. making mudbox completly useless… just like a macintosh (heh).
no other solution, if you find something though let me know!
