Hi, i would like your input about a pc upgrade.
My current specs are:
i5 4670k
16gb ram
GTX 1060 6gb
1 ssd 256gb drive for OS and programs
1TB hdd for the rest.
I’m looking in upgrading my cpu/mb/ram combo and my budget is 1.000 (including a new 256gb M.2 ssd drive). The programs that i am using/plan to use are the usual suspects (blender, maya, quixel suite, substance painter, z brush). What do you think? Should i go the 8700k way or R7 chips still better?

Imo, you should go for a classic sata ssd with a larger capacity, ex. this one https://geizhals.de/crucial-mx300-525gb-ct525mx300ssd1-a1481819.html?hloc=at&hloc=de. Sequential reads/writes are useful in transferring large files mostly. In all other tasks, a classic sata ssd should be on par with a “faster” nvme.
