Path To The Gothic Choir..., Raphael Lacoste (2D)

Thanks All for the positive feedback, I think I’m gonna do more 2D now

Reiv & Yebah There is Sure a 3D base, I use it for composition and realistic Base for perspective and textures, I used also photos for the shapes of the trees and then painted over and over to get only the 2D feeling (highlights, bounce, details etc…)
this is way faster than 3D, also for the silhoutte, break the lines etc…

here is and example:

Simon-pure masterpiece

#68

very nice mate

#69

very very nice ambiance

I love these kind of settings
this might have been a scene taken from a french movie like “La Pacte des Loups” or “Les Rivières Pourpres” … both espescially atmospheric movies about a secret order of monks , living in an old monastary, doing some illegal and occult stuff …

very nice image !!
just in a few hours you say ?
it would take a month for me to finish something like this !

awesome

A good artist will study the masters before him…Very Very good choice, this is one of my favorite masterpieces…

Timeless, I really like all the detail, the trees and rocks add a very dark element… Good Job:thumbsup:

yo Funxer, Friedrich is so inspiring! and sorry for CG artists (including me…) but I thing it is so much more interesting to find inspiration in classical art
Friedrich, bauernfeind, Gerome, Bierstadt! they are the real masters…
