Parts to model fubar; how best to fix?

Fortunately, I version regularly, so I was able to find a copy of my model that’s ok.

I believe that I moved one or more parts to a fort structure I’m modelling. The result is that I can see though little cracks or spaces where the one or other part moved. I thought I’d fixed it, but…not entirely.

I could painstakingly record the XYZ coordinates of every bit, then compare and adjust, or I could append the “good” model into the scene where the “bad” model is, but that seems like a potentially hairy nightmare.

There’s no way I am the first person to confront this problem…any advice to share on how to tackle it?

I am working this scene in Blender 2.5x if that helps.
