particle instances orientation

#1

I want the instances to be directed toward the center please help meIt is a surface emitter from the cylinder I inverted the normals but I want them oriented towards the center.Also I want them to head towards the center. what would be the best field to attract them towards the centerPlease help me. The orientation is most important

Hi
you may use a volume axis field with a negative away from center value
or a radial field
you may put a goal object

great I manage to pull them towards the center. But the orientation. Am reading other forums and Maya knowledge documents but didn’t make it yet

Thanks Matt
But I can’t group the instances because they are sequence of poses for a run cycle. If I group them they will all get instanced at one frame.

AimDirection = velocity

All done now thanks for the replies. It was mainly aim direction velocity after rotating the instances to face x axis and freez transformation
