Aaaah! Even without textures the impression of both together is great:love: !

And now a little boat tour on the Seine, seeing the pavillons passing by…

Hello Lemog,

This is the first time I am replying on this thread. Was going through your Cg Challenge thread where you mentioend about this. I have nearly read every about 34 in detail.

This total thread is mesmorising. (think that’s the right spelling ;)). Great Modeling. Taking such a GREAT and BIG work, planning it, modeling, and also taking time for the the challenge.
/me bows down.

Brilliant modeling really. I will keep checking this thread now. Everything thing is so well detailed. I would aslo thank for giving a great texture site, where I have downloaded a lot of textures from.

Once again great work and best of luck for the challenge too

What machine are you using, how much poly count is this all going to be. Are you going to do the complete flythrough/animation of the fair.

Waiting for the fly-around.

Hey… thanks for all these compliments Girish… of course thatcan contibute to push me more in my way… and to keep entire my motivation…

…I take a look to your website… very impressive too… you have great skills in archi-visualization… beautiful interior composition… I really appreciate…

What machine ? usually my old dual PIII-800 with a wildcat card… and if I need more power to calculate animation… I can use my new laptop alienware :scream:
I estimate the final number of poly between 7 and 10 millions… but my goal is not to be over 7…
…but about the many animations to realize… I will try to have all elements together for a very short time.
But a chance for me… Maya is perfect to manage well the big scene, even with slow computer… and I’m always trying to do clean scene… I’m accustomed to work sonce long time with poor machine… and often much polygons…
But if I can finish this project… you must wait many years… at least 3 years… this World’s Fair was very big… and finally it’s very difficult to delete the less important things… there’s not so much in fact.
I hope to do the real first animation at the end of 2006… when the Nation’s Quay will be finish… it’s my first goal… the first part.

Thanks for your interest… I hope you take some pleasure to continue to follow this “a bit long project”…

Lemog

Cheers,

Morning Laurent!

Well, seems I’ve to wait with the boat tour until next spring…my ticket is already booked:wise: …

But the fly around is also nice and I’m again amazed how impressive this is even without the textures:thumbsup: …and even transparent

Gracias Albert

Very good sight… this project seem a lot to a big puzzle… the one offered ond day… which too much pieces… the one we don’t know if we will have the courage to finish… the World’s Fair Puzzle… :scream: hahaha… a bit frightened now… haha

I understand well the message Sabie… maybe it’s time for me to prepare the documentation for boats creation… don’t lose the ticket… I will work on these boats soon then…

hi lemog,

saw the animation. looks very good. WOW 3 Years. I can understand the starting images and the collected data suggest it’s really big :). Good wishes and hope you complete the desired goal

#656

amazing updates keep going

#657

Thanks for the huge support my friends… quickly, there’s some pics about this pavilion textured… remain me some small parts to tweak a little…
In fact, I’ve already done many test of textures of bricks… I read there’s certain blue bricks… bt I really can’t put that somwhere… so, this is my latest choice.
I must finish some part where the roofs… and finish the quay texturing, near the big staircase.
I also need to do the vegetation and trees… that will be short for this week… as I must start the Serbian Pavilion next week… well… I will see then…

#658

“Another one bites the dust…”
Hehe! Don’t know why but that song was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the greek pavillion all done.
Man, I wish I had half your energy!

Now Dimitris will have to teach us how to say “That is one cool pavillion!” in greek.

#659

cool it is like I imagined

#660

And I’ve missed several updates! :banghead:

First - the flyaround is really nice, and the swedish pavillion looks extra cool semi-transparent  The tour is almost so fine that we can forget about the boat tour…almost.

And the greek pavillion … as I said earlier, now it’s possible to get an idea of how huge this will become - don’t get lost in there forever

Maestro Smurf does it again :bounce:
