Bon continuation l’ami !
haha… and certainly a very old man :argh:
and the worst, it’s I have many other projects like that in my head :banghead:
Hello boy… content de te voir… j’ai aperçu ton custom de l’est… cool ! (ça me rappelle un peu quand j’avais fait une Traban… mais la tienne estmieux… huhu) ++
Well… now, some news about the project… as I have so much probs to finish the left part of the theater… I’ve decided to start the modeling of the next part…
…surely that could be easily to join after the missing part !
While waiting… no textures… the next building… the TOUR DU CHATELET…
Here’s some references :

But that will be like that until the end… the second part of the Vieux Paris is unfortunetely less documented…
…I’m sure they will be much unknown parts :hmm:
Soon the update of the firts polygon of this tower…
If you have more projects like this one, count me in without any doubt and I think you will have an army eager to work with you.
Peuh encore des batiments, tu pourrais modeliser quelques aliens pour changer non? :argh: …je plaisante
Exellent new buildings Laurent, I`m still amazed by the ammount of work done. You have certainly an entire room dedicated for archiving no?
Still impress us everyday
It’s very simpathetic man… but I’ve already worked on many collaborative projects in the past… and I know it’s not always easy to manage in a long time…
…and I take trully much pleasure to do modeling… texturing… lighting… compositing and so…
Then… maybe one day I will be oblige to stop working like that… especially if I want to start an another big project… then… why not for the next one :deal:
Tu sais que j’en serais capable ?
huhuhu…
même si je suis assez nul en Aliens !!
Exactly man… I will post soon some photos of my library… and that comes to be hard to find place ! :argh:
Update time…
the Tour du Châtelet is started… I will be obliged to finish the modeling of this new part to be able to start the texturing of the Theater
As you could see on the plan, there’s a difference of placement on the floor… I know it’s not good on the plan… but I’m not totally sure if the tower is at the good place at 100%…
to follow then…

A late Good Morning!
So we have to wait for the texturing of the theater ? But couldn’t be too long, the Châtelet is growing fast:) …Seems to be a good solution to stop with the parts without documentation…Is there any chance to get better documents later for these parts?
Have a nice day and weekend!:wavey:
-sabrina
Finaly… maybe I will start texturing next monday… I quiete happy by my work of the past night
I just have now to add few missing elements during the week… and I will be ready !
Always possible… but now, the only possibity is to find some old albums of amateurs… but it’s very rare, and always very expansive…
…and this kind of album is usually about the entire world’s fair… and there’s inside rarely more of 5% of Vieux Paris views…
The other possibility will comes at end of November, I’m invited to assist to an association assembly, with many specialist, collectors, passionated, even family of Albert Robida…
…why I must wait until this date ? just because the majority of these people are rather aged… and of course… no internet and no e-mails, and not easy to communicate fast with them…
Update time now…
The Tour du Châtelet seem to be finished…

The footbrige is made… as you can see, it appear as all the parts of this place very different than the plan…
More long to do many test than modelize it of course… a bit hard !

Theater exit almost finished… I forget to do a little shop beside the Tour Gailard…
but the footbridge is in (good) place.

Here’s the view as spectators saw the Tower when exits theater…

I will add and fix some details during the week… and monday… I think to be able to start the texturing… ![]()

The Châtelet is finished? As I said…it’s growing fast indeed:D ! So I’m looking forward to the update on Monday, I’m really eager to see the theater part textured…
Wow, maybe a great opportunity to establish a good contact to some people with just the right resources…I cross my fingers! And I’m sure you’ll find some work to fill the 2 month of waiting time !
and again a nice weekend:cool: …

Oh my, this thread is alive again and I haven’t noticed!
Dear Lolo, your stamina is absolutely priceless … amazing work and dedication. And of course, always a treat to watch your progress - I see some really nice new buildings. I have to go back several pages and check everything out now.
Glad to see you back here, reading the french blog is not very practical for me
Pilori first…
Yes, actually I start to have much contacts everywhere… but finally, very few good informations, but it’s always very rich for me to share our skills about the many topic of this Exposition.
That ? I don’t know… the only thing I’m sure is it’s never enough fast
And yes… not always easy, but I will try to be more regularly here… maybe it’s more easy after holidays, even if I start to be tired… already !
I’ve to tried to sleep again a bit less… to save time to work
Stamina ? I don’t know if it’s the good word… but know, I’m a bit obliged to give a good end to this project… I must give a real goal… then… I must work :curious:
Well… I imagine that… I’m ashamed to doesn’t have enough time to do also the english version… but now… manage the time is always harder… in the same time the project grow, the number of contacts obliged me to work on differents subjects.
Well… a week-end a bit hard for me… much partying
But also 3d…
I’ve fixed so modeling details…
and yesteday night, I’ve started the texturing… nothing very interesting or incredible, only the continuation with the Pilori part…

I will post some other pics today, not about the Vieux Paris, but to have your advice…
Well… actually, I’m searching an another style of rendering for the project…
Don’t know why exactly… maybe it’s my own style, but I saw it too much ? :hmm:
One thing is sure… I’m not, and I can’t be objective !
My first goal is to used this rendering style for a new serie of pictures, about the first part of the “Rue des Nations”
pictures wich could be used for big poster, or in a book by example…
2 differents view per pavilion… around 50 images in very high res !
The previous week, I’ve made many tests… and I have now a result… a bit different, but not totally different… maybe it’s not the goal to obtain something very different… I must acknowledge that today, I’m sure of nothing… the only solution will be to stop the project during few months, to have after a new vision more objective, but as you know, it’s not really possible…
Then, here’s the first tests… with 2 pavilions…
I’m waiting your advices and your comments… and if you have some references with exemple of styles that could be an interesting way, that will be very usefull for me, Thanks :deal:

Hi Lolo,
ha, perhaps you know that you are running in open doors with this style for me?
I’ve learned to appreciate your special style through the many month of watching your work and I’m sure I’ll recognize a “Lemog” even without your sweeping signature and that’s not a bad thing at all - I adore how you can create a special mood with just a few adjustments.
Though more natural for me is a more puristic or minimalist style (and that’s for sure nothing you want for this project), so maybe I’m not at all objective myself, but I feel a kind of fresh air in this pictures - a bit away from the postcard style, a little more towards architectual photography. So it’s a clear “YES” from me!![]()
And by the way, it lost nothing of the special mood for me, it just a little more…to the point?..focused?.. no I don’t find the right word, but I really like it!
Have a great start in the week!
-sabrina
Hi Lemog,
I love the first image… but maybe if you change sky for give more important to the building…
If I find some example I send you…
Mat
Mmh, yeah - I like the new style for renderings too. But… I aslo very much like the old postcard style from before
So, did that answer make you any wiser?
But I think Sabie may be right here - this new more photolike style may give more attention to the scenery and less to the rendering itself.
All are very pretty anyway
