PARIS WORLD'S FAIR 1900 - 3d Reconstruction Project

#2861

Hello Gord… always here too ?

…next step… actually, it’s very hard due to the lack of documentation… I’ve planed to finish today the modeling of this part… hmmm… but, that need again a couple of evenings :argh:

#2862

A bit more… with now the pilori…
and some details additions…

…it just remain the part wich go to the Rue des Remparts, and a little store at staircase left… I’ll do that next evening…

#2863

J’adore !
Vivement la texture

#2864

Great Lemog! Nothing to crit!

#2865

Héhé… last step before to start the Theater…

#2866

Oh, and the next bunch of updates I’ve nearly missed, almost forgotten how fast you work!

Can’t wait to see it, this part is especially charming.
And the new part is growing fast… is there a tree in the roof? I’m astonished to find these details with your lack of documentation:D .

OK, now I have to join the others: You’re a little bit crazy! But of course I’m very eager to see this.

It’s so great to have regular updates again, it cheers me up as a first stop in the morning to see the little couple watching over your building progress…

Nice day for you!

-sabrina

#2867

Morning Sabie…

Well… in fact, at this part, the only thing almost sure is the place of the tree… there’s a mark on the plan… and I know there’s trees line along the Seine… and they don’t cut these line of trees to build the Old Paris… then… as at first view the little building is not a store or something like that, I imagine that’s possible…

Yes… of course, that remain us much very very good memories together… it’ not always easy to be here each time, but it’s always with the same pleasure when I can be a little talkative in the early morning

Have a nice day :wavey:

ps: the update is on the road :scream:

#2868

Up now…

Theater of the Vieux Paris based on the Halles of Paris (old market hall)

First step… ground floor, where was the “Cabaret des Halles”

The Theater was at the first floor. Exceptionnaly for this step, I will try to do also interiors of this building, even if I have for the moment only one photo of the interior, and a couple of drawings…
But due to the bing size of this part, that could be interesting that camera take a little tour inside :wise:

#2869

Just for the pleasure, I’ve made 2 other shoots… you know me well… these wip’s pictures are my motivation

then…

#2870

As many people here know that, I’m working actually on a little film about the first made of this expo 1900…

…a simple film that will be show in an Exposition at the end of 2008 at Paris…

…it’s not yet finished, but anyway, here’s some snapshots of the main part.

The compositing is not finished… just the actual look… maybe that could change, don’t know.

#2871

the rest…

#2872

Sick man! This is totally awesome!

I want a copy of the final video and all the wallpapers done for this project!

You are an inspiration to all of us via your patience and hard work!

Congratulations is a word that cannot describe what must be given to you dear friend…

PS : You reached top notch in the Greek pavilion… If you could see the church in Syggrou avenue you could understand…

#2873

Morning Lolo!

And the next update:cool: …The Theater is really huge compared with the other buildings, so it makes sense to model the interior, even if it is extra work for you.
Thanks for the explanation about the tree, I was just curious if you saw this in the documentation or if it was your idea, I think it’s a very elegant solution and of course these details make your modeling so special.
I’m a little spechless to see the snapshots, they are beautiful and I can’t wait to see the whole animation… end of this year? well, not really sooo long to wait:scream: …

Wish you a great weekend!

-sabrina

#2874

For the video, you must be patient…
and about wallpapers, as you know, all pavillions are done in wallpaper, but I must prepare all the series in better size, for posters, for an another exposition…
…and I hope these new renders will be better :stuck_out_tongue:

Héhé… I have always my eyes on these photos you take man… It’s one of the rare pavilion of this world’s fair that already exist… and in an incredible good state !
That will be a dream to see it one day… in real ! :bounce:

Yes… end of 2008… maybe at the beginning of 2009. Even if that will be finish in november, I can’t show it before the exposition… that comes fast anyway…
I wish you a great week-end too… for me, certainely not much work on the project… a big party is planed for saturday night…
…not sure about updates next monday then :scream:
but before… certainly ! keep plugged

#2875

A bit late for these renderings, here’s some posters of the Saint-Julien des Ménestriers Chapell…

I hope you appreciate…

Of course, environment and other parts of the Vieux paris are far to be finished… I made these pics just to show the steps… while waiting few months, when I will be able to do the final shoots.

#2876

Fantastic work - very inspirational!

I guess this project has become a real ‘labour of love’ for you now? I’m really looking forward to the next update.

#2877

Héhé… thanks you was the only one to appreciate these last renderings of the Old Chapell

well… while waiting the next update (during the next lunchbreak)… let me intruduce it with this interesting drawing…

You can see at this time they build this big theater ! 25 meters high !

#2878

Hi Lolo,

 Of course not, I’m just a little late:D …I’ve waited for this and I’m not disappointed - they are really beautiful and I even like the postwork, decent and in the mood!

Hope you had a nice party and not to much headache for a good start in the week!

-sabrina

#2879

Hello Sabie… yep… the party was very very good… food, drink and dance… perfect !
…and the headache a bit here too yesterday morning ! huhu
Well, now all is okay !

Next now… the theater is well started (for me…)

And I can say that I take much pleasure to do this kind of thing… I always love details… but of course, I will be oblige to show the interior in the film !

#2880

Wow Lemog, I love the renders you have put up there.
Also the theater you are making looks very promising, cant wait to see the inside too.

One minor critic, but I’m sure you still have to work on that… is the water in the river Seine… it does not flow around the obstacles … but you will very probably improve that!

I have to say the more i look around in this topic, the more confused i get about what is what and goes where… But I’ll just keep checking back and be in awe about the great work here!

(I love building something up from the structure, beams onwards… I see you do too, it gives such a better feeling of the building)
