PARIS WORLD'S FAIR 1900 - 3d Reconstruction Project

#2741

That make now 2 almost 2 months I’ve started the Vieux-Paris (old Paris)…
I’ve planed to work on it between 6 and 8 months… but at first view, that will be very short, and sincerly, no idea how many time that will need, I hope to don’t be other 1 year… arghhhhh

Heres some interesting steps of the first part… the first part could appear very small… because it’s only a quater of the first quater… anyway, a bit impressive for me… hahaha
The first part of the medieval part… the most ancient of this reconstruction.

and where I am actually… it just remain few details to do, before to start the next part… certainly next week…

#2747

Woww Wow, Lemog !! Been a time since I last visited your project page, a time to really regret !

What could I say? your work ROCKS. The little drawing under the building is a very nice presentation method that I really loved. I’m an architect & I LOVE architecture. Too bad I’m not that good.

I’ll be watching you from now & on, keep up, Lemo, you’re making history alive.

tsss tsss tsss... no soucy for you man... personally now, that already make much years I play Maya... no surprise, it just need times... perseverance...and work
few years ago, I was a bit like that... I know that well... it's not always easy... each time, it's a real challenge... versus ME :wise:
That doesn't smell as a resting year :scream:

yep thanks Matteo… and usually, for us… images are enough

Try to talk about that ot my body  hahahaha… and the mirror doesn’t help me :banghead:

Already made ?

  • 23 pavilions, (the finnish one is also done)
  • 1 monumental gate
  • 2 bridges
  • 2 footbridges
  • moving sidewalk
  • electric train
  • 1 flyboat
  • 1 tug boat
  • the beginning of the “Vieux Paris”

that make maybe around 15%… I hope it’s not less

#2754

15% ? wow so this is gonna be ready 2030 or sumthin? strength and patience dude

#2755

A great way to start 2008. Fantastic work as always…loved the night renders:bounce:

#2756

It seems that you enhance your renders and textures ! What did you change ? You reach this one to a highest level than before.

#2757

Good Morning Lolo!:wavey:

Now I’ve really missed your first post in the new year!:scream:
Beautiful new renders and I’m glad that you show them here, I’ve already seen them in the blog and my first thought when you started with the texturing was that the heavy tiling brick texture is not good enough for your amazing models…but for some reason I don’t see this so much now, maybe it’s less obvious when things are coming together.
Great work as always and I hope to see updates soon!:bounce:

Have a nice week!

-sabrina

#2758

Yep… and sometimes, that make me afraid… but sincerly, I hope to dedicate more time tothis project…
2030 appear too far for me… I’ve planed 2012… I don’t think to keep the motivation longer… it’s already much…
…I will see then…

Thanks Vanda… it’s always very simpathetic to stop here for a little hello and comment…

Hey monami… tu aimes toujours çà… manger des pétates ? :scream:
Cool you appreciate this new part… for me, I don’t think it’s better… maybe just different, and now, the look is very different… it’s the medieval way that your prefer, not ?
In any case, I’m glad you appreciate this second part !

I know the parts you talk… effectively, there’s large part of wall where the tiling was very visible, I saw that, but the reason why it’s not so visible now, it’s because these large walls not detailed are not visible when all the houses are together, or only a little piece…
Usually, these much details on all walls, as you can see… and simple texture work perfectly, and permit me to save much rendertime to re-used many time these tiled textures. Of course, I’m obliged to do specific textures for the other parts.
Manage the size and number of textures is a real challenge in this project… there’s already too much of course ! but I do my best…
Nice day for you Sabie

The second quater of the medieval part is now started… with the "la rue des Vieilles Ecoles (Old Schools Street)…

It’s a street with many houses of medieval knowed people…

The first, when we come since the “pré-aux-clercs” place is the birth house of “Molière”… the house of his parents, the Poquelin’s family.
This house was named “Maison au Singes”… (monkey house) because there’s at the left corner a pilar with sculpted monkey whom growing at the tree…

#2760

Oh - I like this one! That pillar looks really crazy - I’d love to have one on my little cottage
Have a nice weekend now, and perhaps take some time off for garden work? The spring seems to come early this year
