Hi Brian

It is a great pity to see such a great champion of EIAS fade from view here.
Having said that I have been looking at your previs society with great interest.
Even though I don’t have a background in previz I’m keen to join & I’m sure others here will be too. If you do move on from moderating here please be sure to stay in touch with the folks here.

Brian

Good luck with your newer and bigger adventures.

Everyone needs comment, constructive criticism and suggestions on how things ‘could’ develop based on the experience of the commentator - your experience and knowledge of the industry coupled with your succinct descriptive writing skills make you invaluable.

If you can continue to pitch in here I for one would greatly appreciate it.

And I too hope that a line can be drawn under the issues of old and that the EI community with the new development team at the helm can all work together in whatever forum to make EIAS better and better and better.

I have only talked to one user about MDD. He mentioned that it was odd how it was so impossible to do before and in no time flat it is available. This is bitter/sweet EIAS past is often bitter I have learned to look to the future for the sweet, especially since the past can’t be changed. It would be great if now that EI is moving toward new plugs they would also exercise a diplomatic approach to relationship building among rest of the professional community globally. I don’t mean just the users they depend on for sales but the whole of the 3D industry at large (that is what CGTalk is about).

This is a forum for professional 3D software, artists, users and the industry that employs them. CGtalk is not about one software, or a few users, or programmer. It’s much bigger than that and why some of the counter productive, unprofessional stuff you can do other boards, you can’t do here. That’s why some aren’t here, because they can’t be professional. That’s why some get banned and that why is good some don’t come here. Unprofessionalism. CGtalk represents the state of the whole global market. Brian you pristinely represent that market which comglomerates affliate to CGtalk. Just look at your client roster.

I was here at CGTalk before EIAS came here. I will be here at CGTalk whether EI remains here or not. Whether EI wants to be affiliated with the global professional 3D industry is indicative of their own financial future, not mine. The 3D industry does not revolve around EI, nor does my career. This is hard ball, not softball nor are my clients. They are professionals. Some of the EI users I have worked with handle huge conglomerates. They are going to be here whether EI fails to recognize their contributions is inconsequential.

Brian you are very successful professional in the 3D market that has continued to grow. 3D is BURSTING OUT of the seams and so are YOU. Sometimes you grow out one suit or set of clothes and have to upgrade to a newer, bigger, better, quality and more expensive suit…just like software, hardware, friends, houses or cars.
And when you get there, you will have to wonder why did you not do it sooner? Whether EI’s new development team shows appreciation to the legacy of development, interactivity, and inspiration is inconsequential of the user such as myself who have benefitted from you “Stepping Up to Meet the Need” in those areas. I applaud. :applause:

Point is YOU HAVE SET A MODEL OF SUCCESS FOR ANY EI FORUM. Your EXCELLENCE, LEADERSHIP and DIRECTION of this forum and in your career is something that stands alone to your credit. I would think anybody who ran a software company would want to be afflicated with your OUTSTANDING SUCCESS STORY!! You “CHALLENGED” the community to show our BEST inspite of our humbling developmental software upgrade cycle disposition.

Too bad EI can’t take credit for your achievement here (ha) and any other forum would be hard press to meet the standard you set. When I wandered from forum to forum I knew that I had a home in the EIAS forum. I have gotten MANY OF MY CLIENTS and WORKS here. I posted much of the affliations and friends I have made here. THANK YOU FOR THE HONOR.

My ReadyRigs DVD sells globally. 3D is GLOBAL, Highly competitive market out there…in it, you are either going up or down. I will never understand the kind of logic that would disenfranchise themselves from a main staple as CGTALK and successfully upwardly mobile strategist such as yourself, who has the interest of the software, the users and the vendor’s health at heart. Maybe it’s just an EI thing of the past and hopefully with Tomas’s leadership will BRING be more diplomacy since he is a successful industry champion as well.

Anyway, No EI forum, Even the new EIAS3D should go unmoderated. If by some wake in logic, you are no longer the forum leader here, or your publicist position not openly welcomed back into the EI development circle, then I would suggest we find a successor who is already succeeding in that area and familiar with your model… Richard.

Personally, if it wasn’t for this forum, and the constructive, productive people who I conduct “real” business with like David Wu, Eric Decker, Tomas, and many, many, more members of this CGTALK community, my ties with EI would be hair thin. If EIAS etiquette, and diplomacy were of their caliber EI as refreshed would shoot thru the roof on Community Support Alone. I hope the new EI try to be bigger and better at heart.
