Paralumino Announces Braider

Paralumino Creative Studios is proud to announce the release of Braider; a new addition to Paraluminos continuing line of geometry generation plug-ins for the Electric Image Animation System.
Braider is an EIAS modeling plug-in designed to analyze any polygonal child model parented to Braider in order to generate a series of particle lines. These particle lines can be utilized by other geometry generation plug-ins like Paraluminos Scrim to create true geometry or when combined with specific Paralumino shaders like Superlines, users can create false tubular geometry that follows the topology of any given object. The result is an intricately woven appearance that would be incredibly difficult to achieve with standard modeling techniques.
As a modeling construction tool, Braider achieves its rapid performance by analyzing the placement of polygons (or edges) of a child object and then attempts to build a line to the neighboring adjacent polygon. The line generation process is continued until all polygons are processed. The produced lines are splined and altered by pushing the lines along the surface normals. Any number of uses can be attributed to these lines whether its as a source for geometry generation, acting as a surface emitter for particle systems or tied to reactive shading capabilities for interesting motion graphics effects.
