Painting in 25

#1

This one is actually is an upgrade.
Anyway the title refers to a low speed ASA value. In old film ASA 25 was the best choice in Kodachrome art of image. The color reversal film had no grain and a superb resolution even if any motion blurred the image.
This is an image all done in Lightwave (plus Photoshop, for a bit of noise). No photo, no lsystem, no fractals image or computation. Just moving polygons acting as brushes on a canvas for an expo time of 1.5 sec.
In this second step I tryed to add some polygonal evidence with an emitter spreading boxes around - maybe not so evident  and a bouncing spring like structure.
Hope you like it

its sweet how you are using lightwave in such an unorthodox manner…it stills seems a little flat though…maybe you could have those fast moving objects moving along the z axis.

I also respect that you switched up the style and moved away from apophysis.

HOWEVER I stand by the belief that your work in apo and fractals is still creative and worthy of the contest.

remember that the contest isnt so much a competition but a forum where we can meet each other in active participation for a show or a publication…to me that is incredible…it allows people from all venues and background to meet each other in “workshop” mode.

that is where the magic lies…we make work and contribute and get acquianted we one another through our work…which gives light to our philosophies.

I also respect the way that you communicate with others…so keep going and making great work…in time it will represent an important creative effort in a larger portfolio.

happy holidays!

The problem is that may efforts aimed to have a digital polygonal brush at hands. And I supposed that painting on canvas was a… flattened behaviour. Shame on me: I never realized that every time artists tried for centuries to avoid this limitation… So I have to find the way to add 3d and deepness with an old style painter way. Maybe adding a ‘z’ movement or slowing a lot of objects in their movement, to add clearness to their runs. Mmmmh. I have to consider it.

I didn’t move away from Apo. I’m the best in NO fields, nor Apo neither 3D. So I can enjoy in each field.

This is the best thing at all. I learned so many thing watching your works! It is a great workshop (and free at all!)

Many thanks. It’s a pleasure to communicate our point of view to others who are involved in the same game. Messing the table, we can name this game (the contest, I mean)
