Painter brush bug - "long traight lines at end of stroke towards edge".

#1

Hello, I have a big problem that’s been haunting me since painter 9 and are still present in versions 10. When ever I draw a stroke, sometimes at the end of the stroke, the brush stroke ends by flowing in a long straight line towards a point at the same location right outside the edge.

I use intous 3 in mouse mode…

Is this a known bug and can be remedied?

I’ll be contacting painter support to but need a quick answer as I’m on a project that need painter.

Thanks!

So it seems I’ve found the source of the problem.

I had my Tablet connected to my computer via a USB-hub (a D-Link, 4-port with power supply) that somehow introduced random disturbances. And if it happened at the end of a brush stroke, the position of the pen were lost defaulting to some weird default position in painter, making the strokes running towards the point. Noteworthy tough is that this has happened to me (seldom) even with the Tablec connected directly into the computer but never ever have this happened in any other application, especially not in Photoshop.

Conclusion is that in a way it’s a user error and hardware limitation but Painter always gives me troubles in some way or another, it’s never as stable as Photoshop. Sigh…!

Well, well… problem worked around for the time being.

Cheers

I got same problem too.

Is it work in multi-monitor will gt this problem? Before i use Intuos3 + laptop 15" + 22" monitor. (22" monitor set to main monitor, laptop screen is extend monitor.)
After that i change to work in single monitor, it work fine, dont have that problem again.

Then i bought Cintiq12WX, i set it to multi-monitor again (24" monitor is main monitor, Cintiq is extend), then Cintiq also gt this problem again…
update tablet driver also cant fix this problem.

Any one know why?

I’ve had similar problems with my wacom tablet (Intuos3) plugged directly into my computer. From what I can tell the problem appears to be interfence from radio/wireless devices, perhaps they interfere with the magnetic action of the pen on the tablet. For me I have been using a wireless keyboard and mouse by microsoft. I found that if the mouse was near the tablet that this affect was happening but if I moved the mouse far away from the tablet then the problem went away. So my suggestion would be to remove any wirless devices (cell phones, wireless keyboard/mouse, etc) away from the tablet.

This problem is really really aggrevating.
