Paint Effects mesh deflection?

Hi everyone, i’m working with paint effects doing a forest in maya. I was wondering if there was a way to replace the original deflection in the forces of the PFX by a custom one, like a ground of cliff mesh. I’m new in maya, i’m used to work in max! Thanks!
