OT: Quicktime 7.4 breaks After Effects movie export

#1

I have become aware of this today, and seeing how many EIAS users are Adobe After Effects ones, too…

It seems Quicktime 7.4 breaks After Effects movie rendering. In this Apple forum thread the issue is discussed, including some means of reverting to older versions of Quicktime:

Also Adobe just released AE 8.0.2, which won’t solve the issue anyway:

Tell me about it!

I wasted a whole day trying to strip 7.4 off my machine.

Quicktime is so ingrained into the osx system that it was really hard to remove it to allow me to but 7.3 back on. Any way I am back to normal again and After Effects will allow me to render files that take longer than 10 minutes again!

Cheers

Robert

There’s something called Pacifist that supposedly fixes this bug. It allows you to reinstall QT but I havent done it yet.

The today’s update of quicktime seems to correct the bug of quicktime in after effects.
Let’s hope,

Gerard Bouysse.
