Hi all,
just saw this link yesterday and found it very interesting. Also pretty cheap price tag, IMO.

I was going to post that here too…glad you did. I’m very excited about this - nice to see the future arriving in regards rendering.
I can hardly wait to get my hands on Octane.
Its sort of tied to Cuda enabled nvidia cards.
so if you have an ati card, like most of do (I think), it serves no purpose.
The accelerated ‘unbiased’ approach is what gets me interested about Octane. The samples in the gallery are very nice and the render times are very good.
If you have a desktop PC with some PCIe slots, you always can plug in one or more nVidia cards alongside the ATI one. That doesn’t seem too bad, specially with Octane not requiring using Quadro models.
It seems that it possibly becomes a trend* using CUDA, maybe it´s easier for programmers instead of using OpenCL.
*Here´s the next render engine using CUDA. Very impressive! I especially like the class room scene, wich Dave used also in his EIAS8 beta render.

Very impressive, the render still looks a bit off but for a 10minutes render is really good looking. There are many rays that hasnt strike the walls but…excellent news.

EDIT: After taking a closer to look to these amazing Arion i have changed my mind about purchasing a Canon7d. I think i will wiat for these one to come out.
thanks for the link Stefan
