OT but really important.

I was just going to post this here, but then I also realized it’s in the CGTALK header so it’s not OT. I’m posting it anyway because I first came across it on youtube.

This is so wrong in so many ways.

I strongly suggest any professional or hobbyist do something serious about this.

This is worst than mind control, it essentially bankrupts the creative community from ever becoming independent.

They went from CreativeCommons (cc) to bezerko!

I saw that very “Orphan works” thing discussed in BoingBoing.net. After the initial alarm, it seems this is nearly a non-issue:

This model has been collecting dust

I think the business of design is more or less remanufacturing "signature" ideas that work within time and budgetary constraints. We often see "key poses" rehashed repeatedly. Anyway, this is not my original idea either, tho it varies. :) Maybe I getting soft in the belly too LOL.
I finally decided to separate this model into peices, then colorized the parts in EIAS. EI is always the fast set up , quick, quality renderer. Still looking over models for rigging. A bit of a pun on the topic.

Maybe the blowback is knee jerk. The problem is so often laws of good intent get twisted and abused. Maybe this is more to unleash works that are abandoned than to infringe on artist rights.

Really, people who are going to infringe are going to do it anyway. I think it just par for the course, part of the business of design and 'creativity.
