Thanks Rebecca.

If you can send me the link to an image off of artrenewal.org (the hi~res version) I’ll take a look at it. I think it might be nice though, since it’s such a big undertaking, to focus on the same painting all together here…but I really see no problem so long as the image is not scanned from a book.

Can you post the link here, and if it’s cool I’ll add it to the first post?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#47

OK Guys, I have been waiting all week for this one and it looks like everyone has been up all night getting a great start. I will post my first in the morning. I just downloaded the picture.

Everyone is so enthusiastic! I expect to see alot of great work! :buttrock:

First WIP-image from me, rough as hell though
Basicly only the form is there (and ofcourse I’m getting into detailing waaay to early)
Anatomy is off in certain places too. But I’m getting there.

A quick outline to start with  Looking forward to adding some colours, I spent quite a while looking at the very nice colours used on the skin in the Bourguereau - almost luminous. Can’t wait to get started on those…wheep ^^!

Ok,cause I REALLY like this painting, and reading the acutal literary work was not that bad and it was quite interesting, I am trying to do this one too :stuck_out_tongue: In pencil. This is on A3 size page, this basic outline took about 2 hours to do. Sorry for the bad scan, I had to stitch it as itwontfiton the scanner, and the pencil lines are very light…

Amazing painting.

Can’t wait to have you on board! :bounce:

Originally posted by gorgnut: Excellent choice Rebeccak! Great start! I’m probably going to use the same ‘method’, blocking in with masses instead of linesketch. Your using Painter or Photoshop?
Can’t wait to get started on this one! This schoolday is going to feel loooooong

Heya gorgnut, glad you are joining us! I’m using Photoshop.

Originally posted by SaraD: And as soon as work stop piling up, I´m in!! I´ve been waiting for this one.

Hope you can join us, Llynna! You’ve been away for too long!

Originally posted by Vizon: I don’t like how the colors are bleeding all over the place, but I console myself by remembering that it’s still not done and I’ll make it more perfect when I get to the details. Began with my third charcoal sketch, going to add in the other people/creatures later. I’m posting now because I’m about dead on my feet and I probably won’t be painting on this again for a couple days.

Great to see you joining in! Looking forward to seeing your piece develop. Don’t worry, all pieces start out this way ~ we’ve got at least 3weeks to refine!

Originally posted by fooxoo: Ohh I ll do this one, cause I really like the painting Cheers

How dare you post such excellent work on the very first day of this workshop?
