I’m not trying to get ahead of everyone, it’s just that with the upcoming Workshop, I think I’ll have to more or less duck out of this one…even though it’s something really cool, and I’d like to see it through…so here’s my little update of the moment…

**FAINTS!

Why oh why was I not notified via the bat light!!
This is my most favorite painter in the entire universe and beyond
Dare I?

That’s a beautiful reference:) ! A lot of hands and feet, difficult…but perfect for learning purposes…I think I can’t resist to give this a try in spite of my poor drawing and painting skills… is it possible to post the wips in the beginners lounge:blush:…would be better for me - especially seeing the first updates here!

I decided to start this one out differently so I threw on some hip hop and pulled out my old sketchbook. This is my foundation sketch and was done the same way I used to start my traditional illustrations… I grid-ed that bastard! :buttrock:

I’m back in Kendo for most of this week but will try to squeeze in some work here and there.

You can click on the image to view high res version (it looks a little weak sauce where I stitched it together… I have dinky scanner and my sketchbook was too big  )

Rebecca - Awesome start!

Mecha,

Thanks! Wow, that sketch looks awesome! Why why why why why do I never think to start off traditionally? You would think…  I mean, duh :scream:

Really looking forward to this OFDW…why oh why did I decide to do this iright before the Workshop? :scream:

Because you are a sucker for extremely pressured situations? Makes for faster looser art work? :stuck_out_tongue:

That is SOoooo true!!! I was just thinking that tonight…I so work best under pressure. When I am waiting and there’s nothing to do, I am a horrible slacker. But give me a million things at once, and suddenly I am Miss Organization! :scream: Figure that!

BTW, I saw your post on OFDW 011 ~ but I can’t reply to that thread, all of today…sorry Queenie…my computer seems to choose 1 or 2 threads a day to which I can’t reply…

Cheers,

One more small update before I collapse…ack…:D…waiting for Europe to wake up can be exhausting…:curious: :scream: Goodnight, all! :wavey:

#19

Yay! I can’t wait to get started on this. Unfortunately, I’m out for the next 2 days but will get on it as soon as I get back. I’m going to do what Mecha did and grid that painting. I think that will be my best shot for getting this right.

Amazing painting.

Excellent sketch Mecha!!
You could post it as the initial sketch to the real painting and people would believe you (minus the scanlines of course  )
