krispee,
I quickly made a copy on top of your original and I’ve set the layer blending mode on 70% softlight. Try experimenting with this in Photoshop (or Painter), flatten and save the image when satisfied and you can continue your work in Painter using the adjusted color palette.

hope this helps.
Hey, my lovely Queen! Hugs! :bounce:
Open Figure Drawing Workshop - Rembrandt Master Copy - with Rebeccak 016
enrique: right, those brushes, downloaded but not sure where they go in photoshop…
rebecca: ok, the link is a help, thankyou…i see that im still light in value so ill have another go, another possibility is that because i use the brushes quite opaque(usually around 30% and up to 50%) i wouldn`t obtain the right saturation unless i pressed hard on tablet for quite a few strokes…i have heard of fat over lean…
art2: thankyou for your help, i wont use the paintover, hope you arent offended but i wont learn anything if i use that, ill need to do it for myself…cheers
kris
kris, no problem buddy, happy painting!
You’re definately on the right track, so keep it up.
hi guys…
Rembrandt…i am in awe…
Rebecca - I like how yours is looking. As for stopping…your choice, but I’d love to see what your next step would be.
Art2 - Nike…lol. But very good sketch. Should give you a great start to your painting.
SpiritDreamer - lovely start…
(…where is Hiiri…? want to see that finished!)
I worked on the face tonight…it took so long to get anywhere near a resemblance. Also been juggling the composition to get the correct A-frame, as Rebecca suggested. More accurate now - still not satisfied, but since its 3am I have to stop, or I will die from square-eyes.
100%:
more c&c would be helpful.

Aw man, I just can’t seem to paint lately. I think it’s the exams. Gah.
Another update, this might or might not be the final. One can never know, hehehe.

Audit, that face is looking lovely! Almost like an oil painting. Have fun with the frills giggles
Rebecca: I think you’ve really captured the mood of the image, his expression and the softness of the colours go so well together.
krispee: Good work so far. I like your swatch
A tip, keep flipping the image horizontally, it helps to paint more accurately.
DigitalSol: one more! Yay!
Art2 : Nice drawing! I can’t stop laughing about the Nike logo, hehe.
rebecca: nice work on your study, you have a very smooth style…
hiiri: cheers, i`ll keep the flip in mind, good tip…nice work on yours, especially like the face…and the ruffles are fantastic…
audit: i like the face too, look forward to seeing the finish…
do the colours look a bit more saturated to you guys? anyway, worked on the hat and background a little more and the book in his hand as well…actually i`m running out of room, have to watch my composition in the future…
kris
Hi guys,
Here is what I have done so far…It is paper/pencil and a bit of clicks in PS. It is most likely going to stay a drawing since I don`t have a wacom, but I like experimenting in PS, so who knows…

I devided the drawing in quadsin order to match the drawing with the painting as much as possible…
Hey,
Things are looking great! Lot of progress on all your paintings since I was last here! Can’t wait to see them all finished.
Can’t comment on all of them but I’ll make a few.
hiiri. final or not it looks great.
Enrique. nice to see this finished. great details.
Zephyri. Looks fantastic! well done.
3 weeks left right? hmmm. I may be able to start on another…
Cheers.
Hey everyone!
It took me a lot longer than I thought to get back here. I don’t know if other countries have something similar, but here in Holland we have ‘Queens Day’ (Koninginnedag) when it’s her birthday. It comes with a great big party on the night before and national fleamarkets that last 24 hours. So…I did a bit more partying than expected:).
Still working slowly anyways. For me this is about imitating Rembrandts way of using flecks of colours, building everything up, sort of sloppily going over and over the shapes. I totally love it, I can’t explain but it just makes me go all happy and exhilirated:). I’m proud that he’s from Holland (even though he’s dead:)).
hiiri: What are you on about?! Saying you can’t paint lately and turning up with a perfect copy! I really don’t understand you’re so deceived about your abilities…they make me envious allright!
Digital soul: Great work as usual. What can I say?
audit: great loose style. I love it!

Krispee.
You should copy them and then paste it at, Program files_Adobe Photoshop_Presets_Brushes, or at the brushes palette click the arrow at the upper right corner and choose load brushes and select the file, that will work.
Rebeccak.
I like your version very much, the tones are lovely warm, great work overall.
Audit.
Great update, I like that loose style in your work, I tried to do something similar, but Im still not good enough by controlling the scattered brushes, looking really good.
hirii.
Awesome work there, yours is the more close to the original, IMHO, great work, I hope u consider do other paint, i enjoy your work.
Ceresz.
Stunning start there.
Ricma.

Aedilhum.
Thanks so much man :).
Maladie.
Thank you very much, glad it likes you, I love your paint, looking really great.
Well here is my final image for this, I tried to do something less exact, and tried with scattered brushes, this image was done really fast in comparison to the others, since I use a grid for the lineart, but not for the painting, hope u like it, I think will try another with more details, thanks to all, critics & comments are most welcome.
DigitalSol, thanks. It seems the more I work on my drawing, the worse it looks… I am going to finish it though, no matter how lousy it turns out, but…I guess this is not just my cup of tea, yet! Or it was just a copule of awkward days for me :banghead:
I think you did a great job, especially in a short time.I`ve seen some of your other work here at cgtalk…jaw dropping pieces!!!
I`ve taken a look at that DVD on painting in PS you told me about, seems like a very good one! Thanks.
Take care!
