hi more updates, hard work, litle time

c-you soon

Intervain and Sturmkim - I find it especially interesting to see the work of others working with the same image I’ve been staring at for days. Nice work!

I’ve decided to try another. Carravaggio has always been a hero and I’m finding out why. This is a substantially more challenging painting to copy. The impish grin of Amor - how did he see this expression that lasts less than a second, so clearly and accurately? I love the energy of this piece and hope to capture even a modest sense of it. I think I tend to be more a drawer than a painter and Carravagio is pushing me to be more painterly with this.

vivian82- That is looking absolutely GORGEOUS! I love the colors of her face, very life-like!

I had to take a break, here’s what I got so far. Still not perfect onthe face, but it looks like a human lol.

I hope I finish >.>

I am totally overwhelmed by what everyone has been posting here… really beautiful!

So I practically restarted mine from scratch, taking a rather unusual approach this time…

you guys are all amazingly talented! Please continue!

Glenn - he’s rocking :buttrock:

Johan - like I’ve said, beautiful job on the cloth!

ehem… my Ingres 2 has received a dusting… don’t know for how long though  so just take my efforts to finish it with a pinch of salt

obviously haven’t moved far with it… just some corrections and a bit more work on the face…

manage it…:bounce:

hehe Glenn - I’m glad one of us is sure :scream:

And he is your own now for sure - go yellow!! LOL

ok a little update - discovered a clever way to paint pearls in b&w so I’m proud of myself and a little relieved… And worked a little more on the face + the top of the dress underneath the lace…

#414

you guys are amazing… i wish i were a little more ambitious tried some of those elaborate drapery… this naked body is hard enough for me :frowning:

a little update before it ends …not much progresss as you can see, still on the underpainting… appreciate comments!

Little further on this experiment…trying for some DaVinci lighting…Saw his second Madona of the rocks painting for real a few years ago when it was in BOSTON…The lighting was pure magic.
Had a lot to do with the way his colors came out of the darkness I think…so subtle as to be hardly visible,…but without them there…would be no magic.
I will never be able to even come close to getting that kind of magic in my lifetime, but it is so much fun trying…:scream:
TAKE CARE
