Final update for tonight:

#24

My humble attempt.

The portraits so far are phenomenal, to say the least. Mecha’s particuarly impressive - I love it how he defines the form with a few simple strokes. Don’t think mine even compares … but here you go anyway.

Crit away. Paintovers welcome !

#25

one more. not 100% happy with this one either … back is too straight I think.

#26

dogyears,

Welcome to the OFDWs and to the Anatomy Forum! Great to see your posts!

I quite like the painterliness of both of these…may I ask, which paint package are you using?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Whaouw… lot of nice stuffs here…

with a particular care to the “yulias” drawing… the model pose is already very hard and strong… and you depict something again more in this mood, in this way… I really appreciate this style… not sweet, not comfortable… but more the pain to do well… great for me

This is now my participation…

Click on the picture for a 1200x1600 version

All previous steps of the wip are visible on my Anat Thread…

:cool:Here’s an update, I rejected colour for now due to my inabillity to employ it to any sort of basic standard>> switched to greyscale.

#36

Nice stuff, AOAH! The face is coming together nicely…which reminds me that I should get back to mine…

Nothing fancy. The Gimp actually - I can’t even afford photoshop !

#39

dogyears,

No worries! Have you ever tried ArtRage?

http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html

It’s a free downloadable app that’s really great for painting also. I’ve used it just a bit ~ Mr. Mu uses it and really likes it. A friend of mine just raves about it.

You might want to check it out if you get the chance!

Actually I have, I’m not a big fan really. It’s awesome software, but a tad too realistic … to be honestl I don’t really go out of the way to make my paintings painterly (I would actually like a more photorealistic style), but they just turn out that way somehow. Any tips ?
