Mr. Mu,
LOL, no prob.
Icey,
As always, your drawings are beautiful…I think I had mentioned that you would really like Ingres (pronounced sort of like ahn~gruh) before, you should really look at his work!

i’ll check more of ingres work … maby i’ll make a larger ideea about him
thank you for the images

[left]Icey, have you ever done any Master Copies from Prud'hon, or from others? :)
EDIT: Also, I think you would quite enjoy this book:
“The Artist’s Complete Guide to Figure Drawing” by Anthony Ryder (artist).
As written in the BOOKS thread: it’s an excellent book, and not too expensive. The artist is a traditional artist working in pencil ~ his work is HIGHLY realistic and beautiful.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak

yes!
ofcourse
but quite a wile ago… my studys aren’t that good…

and this - with the angel wings - a total mess

Icey,
Wow, these really attest to the power and purpose of doing Master Studies ~ the discipline really shows in your own work! It would be terrific to see more studies like these ~ you should really start your own Anatomy Thread ~ Anatomy Thread of Icey ~ and post these as well as your other works there as well.
It looks like the main thing you struggle with in these copies is the lower leg and foot ~ perhaps some studies of just these areas might help? Just a thought.
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
hehe - maby i will start that thread
it;s not much to show, but… it wown’t do no harm
I do have certain problems and areas i’m strugleing with , but i’m fighting with them!
We’ll see who wins the fight in the end
cheers!
Icey
This one is finish now…
…I’ve tried something different of my usual style… hope you like…

This is about 3-4 hours progress. I was going to colour it but I see that OFDW 11 is up and running so I am going to leave this as it is for now. I may come back to it later.

Marco J,
WOW, fantastic work so far! :applause:
The only thing I notice is that her head may be slightly too large / luminous for her body ~ but that’s an easy fix if you ever wanted to tweak that.
Great work! Look forward to your participation in OFDW 011!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
I think this is pretty much done.

I think there might be a problem with the right foot, I might have it a little small or something else weird. I’ve had a really hard time working digital lately. I had been doing only charcoal drawings for the past few months I kind of forgot how to work digitally. I was able to finish this one because I think it finally figured out some ways that I can use my charcoal drawing techniques for digital work. Here some extra shots if anyone cares to take a look. Thanks!
Hi guys,
Have been kind of busy after work these days, and so have been a bit slow to respond generally…but will try to take a look soon ~ it’s great to see people still enjoying this thread.
Bear in mind that the most recent OFDW is OFDW 011 ~ hope you will join us there, as well ~ we’re one week into it, feel free to join in at any time!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
jinnseng,
Though perhaps not completely finished, the progress you have made on this piece is great!
I know how hard it is to go back and forth between media ~ particularly when you’ve been ensconced for so long within one, the transition back and forth is tough. But I like how you’ve brought some of the charcoal / drawing sensibility into your piece. I hope you’ll continue to participate in the OFDWs! OFDW 011 is ongoing ~ for another week, then a new one will launch. Please feel free to join in at any time!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
drawMonger,
Really beautiful, sensitive work! Any plans for the background? I definitely love the sketchy feel and the sense that this has been intentionally left feeling a bit unfinished / painterly. Lovely work!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Thanks Rebecca! I’d like to do the background, but i don’t want to miss out on OFDW11…so might stop here with this one
Hi Rebeccak and everyone,
first sorry for my very bad english.
I find these OFD-threads are very helpfully. Thank you for this workshops, references from photos with extraordinary great models.
In the past I only have read in cgtalk-forums, your comments, and looked for your great pictures. And what can I say, those threads itches in my fingers to take the pen and start drawing. (I hope Ive say this clearly enough for understanding. Oje.)
What a shame! With a look in the rules I have read there is no time limit to post here. So for 3 days I began to draw from a pose OFD 010 and then, to late, Ive read that is a time limit about 2 weeks.
I hope it's not a great problem and not too late, to post my work here.
And now Ihave start the new workshop 011.
(By the way, this is also a good English practice for me.)
My skills in drawing:
As a child and teenager I draw a lot of traditional art, with pencil and charcoal, inspired by Boris Vallejo and generally fantasy art. But with many anatomical errors. Sometimes I try acrylic for fun.
My skills in digital art:
No more real beginner but far far away to be really good and I have not found my technic to color figures. So I tried this and that and between that I love my eraser and my Patience.
Yes I know: practice, practice, practice. :-)
Since I found your OFD-Workshops, I use my eye to find colors, not the Eyedropper Tool.
All in one I would say Im newbie (newgie for girl?) with practicepracticepractice.
Sorry for this long Preface.
Ciao, see you in 011,
Ravena
And here is my work, c&c welcome.
