online game development communities?

hey everyone,
i’m looking to get more involved in gaming development and modding and just the gaming scene in general, but i don’t really know any good forums or web sites to get involved with. does anyone know of any good ones?

www.polycount.com is the best one there is …also look for the forum in the list that is where all the action is .

There is also www.cgchat.com and there forums are also very good for video games…lots of video game people there

thanks for the links guys, that polycount site is great, almost exactly what i’m looking for (more modelling than programming development).
