Hi,

Its very well painted, good job!
Altough it does not read easily on the negative space it´s an impressive powerfull message, worth of Odin.

Congratulations !

Wow…wow, wow.

Two front page plugs??! This must be unprecedented!

Another great painting. I love that it’s a different style than your Vader piece. Great job of getting texture and depth in the painting.

Looks like you’ve done your research on Odin as well. Kudos.

Art

that is cool

Veery nice painting, I like the overall feel of it. Some crits:

  • The spearhead and bracelets look a bit flat, a bit more relief on those?
  • The second bird should be a raven? It looks too grey and too big wingspan, more like a gull?
  • The backlight outlines of the body look too thin. Be bold! A wider contour and softer shading would be super!
  • I like the chilly mood of the color scheme, but again I think it could be more bold in colors without losing the feel.

This is your second artwork in Pshop? That’s amazing, I think you will soon blow us all away…!

Thanks I’m really happy you liked my image. I checked out the 3D dwarf that you did. It looks really cool. I don’t know what your software limitations on modelling are, but I thnik you just need some lighter whispier (if that is a word) strands trailing out from the main clumps of hair.

I would also suggest pushing the axe back a bit in value (through some very subtle atmospheric mist in front) as it visually sits on the same plane with his face, and he is holding it back a bit.

Thanks again for checking my work out

It reminds me Thorgal comics! Grate work. Five stars!

#31

Just awesome!
5 Stars!

Your style reminds me of Jethro Tull - The BroadSword and The Beast cover:

Very nice color, like it a lot. Nice treatement of the background and the glares. The arm is a very hard read tho. Took me a long time to figure it out. The Raven would be fine perched on his should without the arm. I think it would be very strong without it. :buttrock:

#33

MY MAIN crit and i think someone else mentioned it …the second bird looses the feel of raven…your other raven is stunning…so the second one should be as true to the mythology!
odin must be smiling at this one!

#34

Ha ha ha! i like it. Its look good 5 stars

#35

nice rendering. umber color really brings the emotion, especially in organic(mostly in humans)

but the cushion on the bicep it’s slight distorted

#36

this is such a great piece!

no crits at all! great concept, character expression and rendering! congrats!

#37

Spectacular work! Really love your style- your paintings have great texture. Your Balrog is damn awesome too!

#38

woav great!

#39

Awesome painting!

The perspective seems to be a little bit off, but it’s well balanced with the colors and lighting!

from me!

Outstanding!

Huauu!!

What I do like the most of your work is that it doesn’t feel like it’s photoshop or that has been painted in a computer, if you know what i mean… all the textures in the canvas and dirty painting… Oh yes!! I love it.
I’ve found as well your Vader pic, and I really love it as well. That one is got a more modern looking finish, but still can see some dirty textures in there!

5 stars for my, and I’ll be watching you!!
