Occlusion made easy with the new APass shader....

#1

Hi everyone,

This will be officially released via the EITG website soon but I just wanted to leak it to you lot first.

Using it means that you don’t have to ‘destroy’ your project to do an Occlusion pass…

http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/APass.zip (Requires EI 6.5: PC, PPC, UB.)

Happy days,
Ian

Cool Ian! Thanks.

I read the read me file, why not have an occlusion pass flag? Other apps have it cause it makes things easier. Is there something I’m not understanding?

Anyways, thanks for the leak… “Now leak is a positively disgusting word” - Black Adder

Yay! Belay that: triple yay with dancing cheerleaders!!!

Because as with so many other things, its easier to make a plugin or shader than intergrate into 2 million other lines of code, apparently.

Thanks for the leak Ian.

Thank you very much, Ian!

thanks man.

Also thanks,

but i have a small problem…How do i get rid of colors showing up in my image? I just testet it applied as camera map and with no other settings, in my GI image. Do i have to obey some other rules for a typical b/w look?

Stefan

It appears to be a bug, currently APass only works correctly under IntelMacs with EIAS UB and PPC Macs running EIAS CFM. For PPCs with the UB and PCs it appears to be broken.

I need to prepare a test project for the programmers…

Thanks for the info Ian!

P.S. For the bug record: I´m using 6.5 on a PPC.
