Object count - viewport limit

#1

Hello
I have a question regarding high number of objects in the scene. I work in Cinema 4d r13, Dell Precision t7500 (Quatro 6000, 96GB RAM). I posted it here as it’s common to most 3d applications, not only c4d. I created an animation with 20 objects which are duplicated using instances to speed up viewport. I have 15000 objects in total (with instances) animated in mograph. I have 10fps. The problem begins when I have to create more objects. I’ve set to display everything as boxes without shading. But with higher count software freezes and it’s not the computer fault. Same fps with 15000 object and more I get on my laptop with gtx460m, 8GB RAM. Is it just Cinema 4d fault and I just don’t know something that is often used by VFX industry? I have seen many animations, VFX where there was many objects. I guess that there is some special algorhythm helping to have many objects in scene - is it with Vue for example? Maybe Carbon scatter or sth else? When I make stills I often try to split scene into separate scenes, render in multipass and later put them together, but here in animation it won’t work.
