Obj to Fact and Morph Editor

#1

In the thread about V8 CA requests, i have asked about morphing capacity of EIAS and have found with the help of Alonzo (thanks ! ) that there is the Morph Editor.

I have tested this feature which seems intuitive enough to be useable, but i have been facing a problem that could be related to the Fact discussion in other threads.

I import several .obj done in Silo that are morphs of the same mesh in Animator to turn them into .Fact objects.
Then i take one of the objects imported and open the Morph Editor.
In the morphs loader i pick up one of the objects converted to Fact and Animator tells me that there is nothing in the object to be shared.
However if i set the Target Match to “First”, it works…
But (yes, ther is a but…) the object litterally “explode” when doing any morphing.
It seems that the facet or point order isn’t respected causing this weird behavior.

What to do to be able to use the Morph Editor correctly, given the fact that .Fact export from Silo 2.0 doesn’t seem to work ? (i’ve tested and got nothing else than points exported ?)

Thank you if you have any reply that might help me figuring it out.

Cheers,

Hi, Tartiflette

From SILO 2 you need to refine control mesh (shift+C) before exporting. In SILO 1.4 doesn´t work this way.
BTW. export your objects in .FACT, it works despite EiAS seems not recognize them except if you use ALL in formats.
Except if you export your models with UV… the SILO UV export is broken :frowning:
Hope it helps.
