Nuke 2D / 3D Template

#1

Hello !

I think my problem is quite simple but I can’t find an answer thats fits to it, so here I am.

For a 3d prodcution, I have to create a template so we can easily create masks thats fits the camera movements on the shots.

I have on one hand the whole (rendered) and on the other one the fbx camera of my shot.
And I want to use masks (rotopaints) thats uses the movement of my fbx camera.

Is there a node in nuke that is the equivalement of the match move, but with an actual fbx camera?

Thanks !

you could use a reconcile 3d to transfer a 3d position to 2d screen space coordinates

or you could map/project the roto on to a card in 3d space and render that with your camera

or if it just a rough mask you could take a look at nukepedia for one of the several point positon mask gizmos (if you have rendered a pointposition pass)

or in most 3d apps/ renderers its not so complicated to render a matte/id pass for different objects/materials, so you get all the needed mask for “free” when you render your 3d scene
