nParticles & 3delight - Rendering Issues !!Help!!

#1

Hi,
i am trying to render nparticles with 3delight… The particles that get rendered as an animation sequence look nothing like how they look when i render a static frame.

Attaching an image to illustrate this
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7ddxgk28KRfOE9aNkxOX3lJZ2M/view

Image on left is frame 33 from the animation sequence… on the right is frame 33 which i rendered as a static frame… ignore the colours as they were rendered with different shaders… but you can clearly see the difference in the particle sim…

I have also attached all the attributes that i used on the particles to 3delight, like lifespanPP, radiusPP, Goal UV, Parent UV etc…

What i feel is happening is, when i render an animation sequence, 3delight does a geometry cache which differs from ncache… is anyone aware of this issue…

Not too familiar with 3delight… have only occasionally used it for rendering particles… so any help would be appreciated… thanks

I take it granted that you cached your particles before rendering ?
I have a mixed experience with maya particle caches. Also take a look at last post in this thread: http://www.3delight.com/en/modules/PunBB/viewtopic.php?id=3003

If maya’s caching fails, take a look at this:
https://bitbucket.org/mfratczak/partio43delight
Together with partio4maya you can bake particles to, say, bgeo and easily render them in 3delight

Hi,
actually caching was the problem… i did cache the particles but maybe they didn’t get cached properly which was the issue… but its sorted now…

Another question…
will look at Partio43delight… seems too technical…
but are you aware of any tried/tested ways of rendering high volume nparticles to achive something like this Video link
will ncache support these many particles stably…
