With the launch of the new CGChallenge website, the challenges will take on an entire new energy than before, we’re beside ourselves with enthusiam, thanx to everyone for their continued support :D.
Now for what you’ve all been waiting for, the announcement of our 10th WIP challenge…
This month’s Challenge is entitled “Living toons”
- Living toons -
Based on the popularity of the “Show your pic thread”, you are to create a caricature of yourself or of any object that defines what you are, your favorite couch, car or sunglasses…as long as it is a caricature
Here’s what stated as the final rules for the Living toons Challenge
The final rules for the 10th challenge are:
1) create a caricature of yourself or of any object that defines what you are, your favorite couch, car or sunglasses…as long as it is a caricature
2) must be toon based, no PHOTOREAL HUMANS
3) caricature must be portraying an emotion.
4) create your caricature performing your favorite hobby. (please not computer related :))
The Challenge starts November 4th, 2002 and will run until December 8th, 2002 Midnight GMT
2D challenges will have the handicap of adding depth by shading their Living Toons, you should make a model sheet (though not required) of perspective view + detail views
- Please provide some form of concept art, a doodle is fine.
- Render from a few different point of views so we can see details.
Remember that this is a WIP challenge, so it is a requirement to show the steps you used, and help out as much as you can, of course you’re not obligated to, but it will help those that need it greatly.
There are however some restrictions to prevent unnecessary issues:
[li]Images with a direct outside linking should NOT exceed the size of either 800x600 or 600x800 in the forum itself. . . If you wish to show a larger formatted picture, do so using the new cgchallenge site. . .this is to help those people with small monitors and slow connections.
[/li][li] Important, Please DO NOT use any models prior to the challenge start date, please start from scratch. If it’s evident you used an old model, you will be told to remove and start over.[/ul]
When you begin a new thread please use the following syntax
Living Toons - character/Object/Environment - [your name]
so for example
Living Toons - character - lildragon
And that’s it,
Now on with the show
