Normal Maps not capturing all detail.


Hi all,

Started using Mudbox recently, and the first thing I thought i would try was creating a high res T-Rex using the base model provided. All went well, i though it turned out ok, however, when creating a normal map alot of the detail is lost. Only a specific area keeps the detailing i want on the normal map.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this or work around it, that would be appreciated.

are you using layer…?
try to flatten everything before baking…


I’ve tried flattening it all before baking but the same issue each time.
I’ve been fiddling with settings and done about 5 different versions but they all end with the same result


try xnormal for baking… to get sure its not the mesh…
