Noob Pose Deformer User

#1

Hello,

I am using PD for the first time. I have a question regarding the following statement on Micheal Comet’s site

http://www.comet-cartoons.com/MELfiles/poseDeformer.html

"can use more than one poseDeformer node on an object. This can be useful to say setup one deformer for each area of the geometry. For example using one to do the left shoulder, one for the stomach, one for the left leg, and so on. To do this, simply right-click in the text field for the poseDeformer and choose “Create Nw”.

So in my test, I got the clavicle movement looking nice. However to the same deformer I also started started to add shoulder PD, which did not give me desirable result, eg when I moved shoulder and clavicle forward, it gave a double transformation effect, and made it look ugly

Should I had put my shoulder PD on a another deformer, and what should my order of input be?

Thank you

You might need to turn of a checkbox option called “based on orig mesh” or something like that. Then the new deformer’s delta calculation will be based on your edits on current pose.

I thin my skinning was showing through. Tweaked the weights and it was much better.

However I am getting this weird problem that if I rotate the elbow, the shoulder/clavicle area gets affected too, despite the fact they are on two different PD

your pose reader’s are parented to the wrong joints, i think. And yes, they’d always active when your joint orientation matched the readers’ cones, regardless of which deformer were you editing right now.
