No menu on the left

hey,

when i start rhino 4, it starts without the menu on the left (with polygon, meshes etc.). I can’t find a way to get it back there… anyone got an idea?

Go to Tools > Toolbar Layout > and make sure Main 1 and Main 2 are checked on.

there are to empty fields… and by the way, when i middleclick in a view, it says unable to locate toolbar “default.popup”… i tried reinstall like 4 times but it won’t work…

if you are using Windows XP or it should be here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McNeel\Rhinoceros\4.0

i’ve got a couple of files in there…:
default.tb
default_32x32.tb
default_32x32_backup.tb
default_backup.tb
and a map called english

in that map another two maps, support and template files
in template files are just the templates, and in support:

colors_1033.txt
hatchpatterns_1033.txt
linetypes_1033.txt
printwidths.txt

doesn’t look like a toolbar is in it…

go to tools > toolbar layout

then

you need to open the default.tb for going back to the default toolbar layout.

one more thing,
in case you change the layout yourself always save it with a different name, so that if you screwup the layout by any chance you can always go back to the default one.

well ok, i’ll try it…

the problem came when i was working with rhino, and then the pc crashed… had to restart it and then there were no toolbars…

i’ll tell you if it worked :wink:
