No Custom Shape

#1

Created a ‘curve’ object for use as bone custom shape. I got to pose mode, selected ‘bone’ tab on properties, and assigned same object as ‘Custom Shape’ under Display. The bone just disappears … no bone and no Shape.
Did I do it wrong?
See attached for the Shape (free ;))

I checked out your file, and I think the problem is that Blender seems to only use a mesh for it’s bone custom shapes, so if you select the controller you made in object mode, go to Object>Convert>Mesh From Curve… (or ALT C), it will convert the curve object to a mesh, and then it will be able to be used as the bone custom shape.

Hope that helps!

Figured it out myself.

answer: NO! Curves don’t work
Mesh works … use mesh verts and edges (only) to emulate curves.

Hey earchild, thanks. Saw your post just after posting my discovery. Did mine the hard way. Created a mesh circle and remodelled from scratch. Same result, hard method. Thanks for the ‘convert’ tip.
