Night city 1

Something I’ve done today over 3 hours. I build some geometry in Maya to help with perspective and composition (30min) the rest in Photoshop. Don’t know if I should detail it more and submit to the gallery, should I move on… I feel that I told all what I wanted to tell in this image and for some reason putting extra detail to be able to submit to the gallery would be a waste of time. What everyone else thinks?

It depends on what your motivation is for creating this image. If it satisfied the goal you had in mind, then there’s no need to pursue it further. If getting it in the Showcase Gallery is important, then give it some extra TLC so it’s got a bit more polish. Once you’ve been through week one of the workshop, you’re probably going to have a different mentality regarding the matter of artistic effort, what is worthy of your time and energy, and what your priorities should be.

Thank you! I’ll leave it at that. At this point for me it is more important to move forward than staying at one place. I sort of feel that if I paint something new that will improve my skills overall and if I stay and detail this to death, then it will only improve my detailing/rendering skills.
