The broken chunk to the left is a really nice idea. It has a lot of scope with the reflections and shadows on this one. Fantastic!

Ivy00 - Hehehe! All this talk is giving me an idea… Not today, but who knows…
MarkyG - Thanks. I only hope it will work in the refined version…
OoooK…
As promised, here are a couple more concept pics.
The first is (almost) the forest version I had in mind. I’m really not inspired today so it turned out a bit crappy…
The second is my attempt at a more original and unexpected looking enviroment. It was supposed to be about mutated flora but it turned out so alien I don’t think it will look convincing even when it’s refined… Oh, well…

Next step is the “offical” building extension - in 3d (I hope) - but since I’m too sick of looking at the thing right now, that will have to wait.
See ya!
Back at last!
Unfortunately, since my life has taken (yet another) turn for the worse I didn’t get to do the 3d extension I wanted… :banghead:
Anyway, here’s the basic 2d extension.
Lets see if I can post some more before tomorrow. crosses fingers

nice perspective correction but I think u’ll have to take care of thos pillars on the right: the distance between them should be bigger as they are close to the camera, not the other way around. keep it up.
bechira - Aarrgghh! Yeah, you’re right. At one point I was going to fix that but I end up forgeting. Thanks for the tip.
The good news is - since those arches are coming down I won’t need to much fixing on the stage I’m working on now…
Still under construction… destruction… whatever…

More tomorrow.
i liked the one with the dead mutated cow lyin on its back its legs up against the sky
good luck with dis, sonia
.
OK… I replaced the “Stage 2” pic. It now has a more correct perspective (I hope…
). I’ll be replacing the last pic later on.
Inlakechh - Hi! Thanks! I meant to do a 3d extension of the building, but I just don’t have the head for modeling right now… It’s gonna be a full PS job. I’m just trying to fake what I would do with Max. But if you like it, I guess I’m doing something right!
Squibbit - LOL! Hey, Squib! Long time, no see. I’m still considering the cow (and the seagull) - all these dead animals to choose from…
Thanks for dropping by.
Back to work…
edit - Both pics replaced now.
Building, destroying, building destroying…
It’s a shame I’ll never finish this in time, but at least it will look cool… in a year or two…
Just a lil’ WIP.

nice set extension, but I don’t know if u should spend so much time on this…it is a lot more to do. one question: why are the blue lines paralell?. they should met in the second perspective points, as the red lines met in the first perspective point and the vertical lines should met in the third one.
good luck. and keep it up.
I agree with bechira about the blue lines. They should meet in the horizon line at the secound vanish point.
Keep up!
Anti2007 - Thanks! I’m actually enjoying seeing this turn out so “clean”.
bechira, kbarts - Hehe! I knew you gonna ask that. I didn’t trace proper lines mostly because the building doesn’t extend much to that side so the distortion should be minimal, especially after collapsing bits and pieces of the walls. Plus, I suck at technical stuff and tend to rely more on my “eyemeter”…
Thanks for tip just the same.
At this point I’m not really expecting to finish this within the deadline but I will finish it anyway. I’ll just keep on posting and see what happens.
I think u should have it finished within deadline coz it is a very nice start. I really love to see it finished in time. Good luck and keep up the good work!
hey Sonia the extension is really nice, now are we gonna have to get out the whips so you finish on time? Keep going, go go go
bechira - Thanks!
Since we now have another 4 days to finish I might be able to pull it off.
Ivy00 - Whips?! :surprised Oh, promises…!
LOL! I’m going, I’m going.
The “modeling” is all done now (me thinks), I expect to start on the “texturing” tonight.

Keep at it Sonia I think you have made a good start and I would like to see what you can come up with,
Best regards
Rich
OK… I realize this is ahem a bit too much right now but I’m still trying to figure out what elements to use and how.
Since I had 2 people saying the “mutated” landscape was cool and since my other options were already covered by others, I decided to try mixing my various concepts.
It may not be realistic (yet) but I find it crazy cool and I’m having a ball with it! It looks like some kind of lab fx on slide or something, hehehehe!

Now the real challenge - make it look believable. Preferably before the deadline.
Rockhoppermedia - Thank you!
hmm,…
maybe think about size relations,
and try not to blend things by making it soft edged.
did you actually blur stuff?
I like the fantasy look of this. Like another planet. Try giving some single shapes sharper edges. Now they seem to be cut out with a blurred selection.
I agree with milan that there are some scale issues. Try blending the layers in different layer modes llike overlay, multiply, color … and see if it helps to tie the image together.
