Hey folks

Larry’s wife Camilla called me early this morning, and she has asked me to pass the news on to the community that Larry Shultz sadly passed away early this morning (Saturday 24th November 2012) at around 4:00am NZST.

She’ll keep everybody updated (I am assuming through her blog (http://pasider.blogspot.com) and Facebook).

Just to let you know the sad news. Larry’s been one of the communities most well-known personalities. His creative contributions to the LW community, his sharing and mentoring and friendship to many is a huge loss for us all. He’ll be sorely missed. :frowning:

Sad, sad day, Larry was a great inspiration to me, he is connected to LW for me like nothing else.

i’ll miss his gruff and gravely voice coming over skype and on his training videos…he was a great guy, always helpful and i loved his training style on the lightwave videos…he’d come across a problem and work thru it or show alternative ways to tackle the same thing…not one of those training videos where everything goes to plan…they only teach monkey see money do…

splinegod taught you how to SOLVE problems…that’s proper training!

i’ll really miss him…currently raising a glass of wine to him.
cheers for all the help over the years.

he worked on many projects including movies: avatar, Tron,
cg tc shows: max steel and dan dare to just name a few.

Known, trained with and cherished larry for years. First had the pleasure of meeting him shortly after LW7 came out. He was absurdly knowedgeable and one of the warmest, funniest, and most talented guys I ahve ever known. I will miss him a lot.

Oh no… :frowning:

I had the privilege of talking to Larry on the phone a few years ago for about an hour and a half. It was one of the coolest conversations I ever had and although I only knew him from a few exchanges on the forums, he made it seem like we had known each other for ages. He was a very warm, personable guy and our planet is a little less better off without him.

RIP Larry and thanks for all the help and support, and my condolences and prayers go out to your family.
