newbie seeking help> how to maintain character concistency from sketch to 3dmodel

Hi cg gurus, Id really appreciate if anyone can help me with tips on character development/ texturing so that whatever I’ve drawn looks and feels the same as the render because as of now something prevents me from achieving this.
I’m a self-taught 3d artist and I work in Z brush and 3Ds max pretty comfortably.
Iv attached the link to the character Iv been working on and you can clearly see the difference.
