Hi I am new to painter 11. I have looked through the faq and can’t seem to find an answer to my question, but please forgive me if I missed the answer somewhere. I am working with a file that I cloned. The bottom layer is the canvas and the top layer I am using to clone the image. It worked well until I saved it as an .riff file. When I reopened it and tried using clone on my top layer or canvas, each brush only picked up a floral pattern. I had ‘Pick Up Underlying Color’ selected. This happened even after exiting painter again, but after about 30 mins I reopend painter and everything worked correctly. The clone brushes picked up the underlying color instead of a pattern. Am I missing something? I hope someone can help. Thanks!

If it’s cloning the patterns (which you are able to do by selecting a pattern), you can get it to stop that and to clone the area you want instead by holding down the Alt key (on a PC… not sure what it is on a Mac) which brings up the cross hair for you to select the starting point.
