New user, can't post?

I’ve tried to post a question in the Maya section three times now. It’s not that it gets deleted, it doesn’t even post period. I go to my username and view all posts by this user and it doesn’t even show me as having made any posts. It says at the bottom that I MAY post new threads. What is the deal?

You would have seen a message explaining that since you’re a new user, your posts require validation. Please read the messages you see, they’re not there just for show, you know.
